A Letter to Our Patients

Dear Patients, I’m writing to introduce myself and share some exciting news about the future of Integrative Dental Health (previously Gaudio Dentistry).

As of April 1st, I am proud to be the owner of the practice. Dr. Joe Gaudio will continue to be involved in the office and remain an important part of patient care as we move into this next chapter. As part of this transition, Integrative Dental Health has become Chester Smiles Dentistry. While the name has changed, the philosophy behind your care remains the same.

For decades, this office has been built on treating people, not just teeth. That approach was shaped by Dr. Gaudio, who has cared for generations of families in this community. Many patients describe this practice as feeling more like visiting family than visiting a dental office, and preserving that trust is incredibly important to me.

Dr. Gaudio was also a mentor of mine during my residency training. We share the belief that dentistry should be thoughtful, conservative, and guided by natural physiology. When care is carefully planned and done with intention, the results are healthier, more comfortable, and naturally beautiful.

Dr. Gaudio will continue to focus on patients with chronic TMJ and airway-related conditions. I will be providing your general, restorative, cosmetic, and comprehensive dental care, working closely with our team to ensure a smooth experience. You can expect the same familiar faces and the same commitment to long-term oral health.

A bit about me. I was born and raised in East Hanover, New Jersey, and I am a triplet. My brother is a chiropractor, and my sister is a physician assistant in dermatology. Before becoming a dentist, I was a biomedical engineer. I enjoyed the science, research, and problem-solving, but the work itself felt isolating and unfulfilling. That experience led me to rethink my path.

Around that time, I came across the idea that dentistry brings together the roles of a Doctor, an ENgineer, and an arTIST. That concept resonated with me immediately. The doctor allows me to connect with people and care for their health. The engineer allows me to solve problems and build with precision. And the artist gives me the opportunity to create and transform smiles in a way that is both functional and beautiful.

Outside the office, I enjoy woodworking and creating glowing epoxy sculptures, building both large structural pieces and highly detailed works of art. In many ways, those hobbies mirror how I approach dentistry: careful planning, precision, and respect for structure.

I completed my dental training at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, where I served as president of my class, and went on to complete a General Practice Residency at Morristown Medical Center, a Level One Trauma Center. During that year, I received extensive training in oral surgery and dental trauma, including managing complex cases in the operating room, while also working closely with specialists across all areas of dentistry. That experience gave me a strong foundation to care for a wide range of dental needs with confidence and precision.

While that training is important, my true passion lies in conservative cosmetic dentistry. One of the most rewarding parts of my work is helping patients feel confident in their smiles in ways that look natural and preserve healthy tooth structure. Treatments such as Invisalign, whitening, cosmetic bonding, and porcelain veneers allow us to enhance a smile thoughtfully, without over-treatment. When cosmetic dentistry is done conservatively, it can be subtle, functional, and life-changing.

Above all, I value relationships. My goal is to partner with you, explain your options clearly, and help you make informed decisions that feel right for your health and your life. Dentistry should feel collaborative, calm, and personal, and that is the environment I strive to create every day.

The team you know and trust will remain here, and Dr. Gaudio will continue to be involved. While the name has changed to Chester Smiles Dentistry, our commitment to comprehensive, patient-centered care remains exactly the same.
